2016 Masonic Homes of KY Great Day of Service

On Saturday April 16th, Worshipful Bro. Brad Drew, Senior Warden Bro. Chuck Yocum PM, Junior Warden Bro. Lee Onkst PM and Senior Steward Bro. Gary Gray made the 1.5 hour trip to the Louisville Campus of the Masonic Homes of Kentucky. Each year the Masonic Homes of KY hosts a Great Day of Service between two campuses, Louisville and Shelbyville.

Upon arrival the Brothers from Latonia Lodge No. 746 were welcomed by MHKY employees and asked to register. Afterwards they were all given 2016 Great Day of Service ball caps and provided with their work detail. The Brothers from Latonia Lodge were entrusted the care of mulching the front entrance and area of the Masonic Homes campus. The Brothers then met with other volunteers and ate a quick breakfast of donuts and coffee and then started work around 9:00am. At 11:00am all the volunteers were brought together to form a human square and campus and photos were taken. Afterwards the volunteers enjoyed lunch provided by the MHKY consisting of pulled pork or chicken, hot dogs, all kinds of sides and even watermelon!

We look forward to working again next year and hope to bring even more Brothers!
